Essential Oils Aid Horse's Recovery from Wildfire Smoke Exposure

Our 10-year-old Quarter Horse, Pedro, fell seriously ill after wildfire smoke exposure. This is his story of how essential oils aided his recovery. We went through a huge wildfire and were under evacuation in certain areas. During that time, we are inundated with smoke. We evacuated our horses for a couple of days to give them some reprieve from the smoke.

A couple of days after returning, Pedro's temperature spiked to 104°F. He stopped eating, and he had a snotty nose and was coughing. He showed severe respiratory symptoms. I immediately applied peppermint and copaiba oils, which helped reduce his fever.

The next day, I performed an Aromatouch session using a variety of oils, including Breathe blend, oregano, and marjoram. Pedro's condition improved rapidly. By the third day, his temperature had normalized to 99.1°F, his appetite returned, and his respiratory symptoms significantly improved.

I created a respiratory blend to continue to support his recovery and applied it twice daily. Within a week, Pedro was well enough for a short ride. His quick and effective response to essential oils was remarkable. They played a crucial role in Pedro's recovery.
