Red’s Journey: Healing a Broken Leg with Oils & Light

We’ve had a small flock of chickens for a few years now. This is a story about one of them, Red.

On Feb 3rd, I came home around 5 pm after being out all day to discover that one of our hens, Red, had dislocated or broken her leg. It felt completely detached at the joint where the femur attaches to the body! It was literally just dangling there and didn’t feel like it was connected to anything.

I made a mixture of Aromatouch, Myrrh, and Copaiba essential oils diluted in fractionated coconut oil. My husband would hold her for me while I put the red light on her socket and then applied the essential oils.

Since she could barely walk, my husband or I took her out into the yard at least twice a day for sunshine and brought the food and water bowl to her so we could see if she was eating and drinking. There was drinking water in the hen house, but we weren’t sure if she would attempt getting to it.

Spent more of her time in the hen house, sitting on the eggs with the other hens.

About 5 days later, Red actually started to put a tiny bit of weight on one foot, and by day 15, she was actually hobbling! It's incredible. My family is absolutely astonished!!

Six weeks later, I was away for the weekend, and when I came home, I immediately went to check on the peeps. To my surprise, she was out and about on her own!! From this point onward she started leaving the hen house more and more for short periods of time.

Another amazing thing is that none of the other peeps ever attacked her, as they sometimes do.

By Jun 6, she was barely limping anymore. Other than a slight limp, she had a normal life until her passing over a year later.
